Some of my most favorite sessions to photograph has to be Seniors. They always have such unique styles with their clothing, their location ideas, their props, their ideas! I love it! I am always up for a new location, new ideas, fun props. I always want the Senior to have a great time and feel comfortable in front of the camera.
My style is never stuffy or stiff or boring. I am so not a serious person and love to laugh and make jokes. Sometime I have been known to break out in song and dance...much to the embarrassment of my own kids. Though I think they secretly love it.
When a parent contact me to start the discussion of Senior portraits I begin with letting the parent know that this session is for them yes but it is also about them. This is their time to shine and showcase their personality! I will send off a questionnaire for the Senior to complete. Once complete I like to meet up with both the parents and the Senior so we can go over wardrobe choices, location ideas, posing, must have shots and ideas on props for the session. Our initial meet up is so both the parents and the Senior can get to know me so on the day of the session everyone knows what to expect and we can make the most of our time and for sure make the most of our golden hour light.
When it comes to locations I can always suggest a variety to choose from. From local spots here in Lebanon, Ofallon or eve Mascoutah to places further West in St. Louis. And while I can help with wardrobe colors and choices I will not change your style! I want you to be ...well...YOU! From hip and chic to country wear to bohemian inspired to your cheer uniform or hockey jersey. This session is about YOU! Let's showcase that!
And for the first time Kim Mumford Photography is now on the list of preferred photographers for Belleville East High School! I am excited to be able to help these Seniors create amazing portraits documenting this amazing time!
Best times.....the busiest times......are from mid August through mid November and then from March through May. If you are thinking of booking a session the first thing you should do is contact ME! I will help you decide if you are wanting Fall or Spring for your portrait session. Then the rest will fall into place.
It is that easy! I look forward to working with the Class of 2019!
